Expert Floor Sanding Services

Bring your tired timber floors back to life.

We use advanced dust-free machinery to reveal the natural beauty of your wood.

Our 3-Stage Sanding Process

Our floor sanding process is designed to deliver a flawless, smooth surface ready for the perfect finish.
We don't cut corners. Our standard process involves multiple passes to ensure levelness and scratch removal.

01.
Preparation & Repairs We start by punching down all nails and removing staples. If there are damaged boards (borer or rot), we repair or replace them with matching native timber (Rimu, Matai, Tawa).

02.
Coarse Sanding (40 Grit) We use heavy-duty German belt sanders to strip away old coatings, paint, and deep scratches. This flattens the floor.

03.
Medium Sanding (80 Grit) This stage refines the scratch pattern and prepares the timber for fine finishing. We also collect the clean sawdust to create a color-matched wood filler for gaps.

04.
Fine Sanding & Buffing (120 Grit) The final pass uses a rotary sander/buffer to create a silky smooth surface, ensuring the grain is evident but the texture is perfect for coating.

Common Floor Sanding Questions

How long does it take?

An average 3-bedroom home usually takes 3-4 days to sand and coat (allowing for drying time).

Is it very dusty?

We use high-end extraction units that aim for 80% dust free. However, a fine layer may settle, so we recommend covering sensitive electronics.
